Adopt an animal Click on the location and animal type in the box to the right to view the animals available for adoption at the Washington Humane Society's two shelters. Check back frequently, as we are the only open-access shelter in DC, so our list of animals available for adoption is updated daily! Click here to read the Inside WHS Blog! Join us for our next Meow Mixer; a cat OPEN HOUSE adoption event, on Wednesday, September 24th from 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m., where you just might find your “purrfect” match! Enjoy hors d'oeuvres and drinks compliments of Whole Foods (P Street). The event will take place at the NEW WHS Behavior & Learning Center. Space is limited.
